MBA Program Management Courses and Future Career Paths
Students in the MBA program wishing to pursue careers in management, such as organizational leadership, managing operations, managing sales units, project management, or various roles in human resources, are advised to follow one of two career pathways: organizational behavior or strategy and entrepreneurship. The organizational behavior pathway places an emphasis on recruiting and staffing, developing employee relations, and industry relations between middle to high-level management roles. The strategy and entrepreneurship pathway promotes well-rounded knowledge in the overall institutional operation, the market needs, and the capacity to build a competitive advantage to lead a successful operation. In addition to the management electives listed below, students should consider electives related to databases, decision-making, and project management, such as MGT 219, MGT 256, MGT 228, MGT 280, and MGT 251.
Management Concentration
To earn a management concentration, students can choose five courses from the eight courses listed below:
