UCR School of Business Teams Take First Place at the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition
Two UCR Business teams led the graduate competition of the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition (ICBSC) this past weekend. Comprised of both graduates and undergraduates from the School of Business, the UCR teams began preparing for the case competition off-site in January, culminating in the intensive phase in Anaheim, California from April 26 to April 28.
Each team competes in a simulated global market with up to five other university teams. Teams run all aspects of the business for five simulated years, making strategic decisions from production output, human resource management, sales force management, marketing management, and financial management -- including building factories. The UCR School of Business teams won first place in Overall Performance and Best Business Documents.
For 54 years, the ICBSC has been the longest running simulation business strategy competition in the world, attracting universities from all across the U.S., as well as from Canada, the U.K., Australia and China. Since the UCR School of Business began competing in 2012, it has positioned itself as a leading force each year, winning first place in several categories.
