More than 60 deans, associate deans, and industry partners came to Riverside, Calif. for the 2024 Western Association of Collegiate Schools of Business (WACSB) Deans Conference in October.
The UC Riverside School of Business hosted this year’s WACSB conference with representatives from 37 business schools and eight industry partners. A packed agenda included such topics as, “The Role of a Business School in the University’s Big Picture” featuring university provosts and a recently retired president, “The Nuts & Bolts of Being a Dean or What I Learned the Hard Way,” “A Case Study in Culture Change,” “Current Market Recruitment Opportunities & Challenges” featuring GMAC and Eduvantis data and insights, and three perspectives on Collaborations and Partnerships That Work, among others.
The keynote speaker was Len Jessup, retired president of Claremont Graduate University, who shared his lifelong journey to become a selfless leader devoted to creating transformational change. The two-day conference also included a docent tour of the renowned Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture and a tour of the new UCR School of Business Building.
